Guardian Child Care currently have seven childcare centres in Sydney with current vacancies for childcare positions in Sydney suburbs such as Balmain/Rozelle, Lane Cove, Matraville, Maroubra, Maroubra Junction, and Woy Woy/Blackwell.

Regional Managers
Responsibilities of regional managers are to oversee the management of clusters of childcare centres located in Sydney. You will have the support of a national operations manager as well as the administration at the Central Support Office. The role involves working closely with our centre managers and centre staff in your region and visiting the centres in your region to ensure the highest standards of quality care is maintained. In addition you will develop and work within centre budgets, have full knowledge of accreditation procedures and establish a strong relationship with the department and the owners of the centres.

Qualifications required for Regional Managers:

  • Australian recognised Bachelor of Education/Early Childhood Teaching Degree or relevant childcare qualification (Diploma or Bachelor Early Childhood)
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current anaphylaxis training

Centre Managers
Responsibilities of centre managers include maintaining a high quality standard of care throughout the centre, maintaining a great team of staff, developing rosters and wages and accreditation preparation. Their role also involves purchasing of all supplies and overseeing the budget and developing an activity plan with the assistance of qualified group leaders and support of the regional manager. Applicants for this role should have a minimum 12 months experience as a centre director/manager in a similar service or are qualified group leaders looking for their next career move in early childhood education in Sydney.

Qualifications required for Centre Managers:

  • Australian recognised Bachelor of Education/Early Childhood Teaching Degree or relevant childcare qualification (Diploma or Bachelor Early Childhood)
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current anaphylaxis training

Qualified Group Leaders
Qualified group leaders are responsible for fostering and caring for children aged 6 weeks to five years. Their role is to develop and implement exciting activities for the children, look after their safety, communicate daily with parents and other team members and mentor casual assistants. You will be supported by a centre manager with overseeing support from a regional manager.

Qualifications required for Qualified Group Leaders:

  • Diploma in Children Services or equivalent
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current anaphylaxis training

Casual Assistants
Casual assistants are responsible for nurturing and caring for children aged 6 weeks to five years. Their role is to plan and implement exciting activities for the children, look after their safety and correspond daily with parents and other team members. Team members should be highly motivated and show initiative in the workplace with good communication skills – both written and verbal with a happy and bright disposition.

Qualities essential for the position are:

  • Certificate 3 in Children’s Services for Assistant positions
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current anaphylaxis training

Cooks
Cooks prepare meals for children 5 days per week and provide for cultural and dietary food restrictions, as well as maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen. Responsibilities may include developing seasonal weekly menus, knowledge of nutritious cold and hot meals in line with dietary requirements and food standards, bulk buying food as well as weekly shopping for fresh food, organising food safety plans and associated documentation, maintaining and ordering kitchen supplies and overseeing the budget.

Qualifications for cooks:

  • Food Handling Certificate Essential and Food Safety Supervisors Certificate preferred
  • Current Working with Children Check
